Method

  5. Add 1 tablespoon of chana dal, 1 tablespoon of urad dal, 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, and 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds to the pan. Fry them until the mustard seeds start to pop.
  6. Add 1-2 dried red chilies, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the pan. Fry for a few seconds.
  7. Turn off the heat and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the pan.
  8. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and add the spice mixture to the rice. Mix well.
  9. Garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Chitrana rice is ready to serve!
