Method
Follow these steps to make Lemon Rice Chitranna:- Take a kadhai or wok and heat 2 tablespoons of oil in it.
- Add 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon of urad dal, and 1 teaspoon of chana dal to the heated oil.
- Once the mustard seeds start to splutter and the dals turn golden brown, add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1/4 teaspoon of asafoetida powder to the mixture.
- Add 10-12 curry leaves and 2 chopped green chilies to the mixture.
- Stir for a few seconds and add 1/4 cup of roasted peanuts to the mixture.
- Saute the mixture for a few seconds and add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to it.
- Mix well and add salt to taste.
- Add 1 cup of cooked rice to the mixture and mix well.
- Stir the mixture for a few minutes and cook it on low flame for 5-6 minutes.
- Once the Lemon Rice Chitranna is cooked, turn off the flame.
- Your delicious Lemon Rice Chitranna is now ready to serve!
