  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

  • Pressure Cooker
  • Chopping Board
  • Knife
  • Spatula
  • Bowl

Method

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  3. Add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, and green chillies. Saute for a minute.
  4. Add onions and saute until translucent.
  5. Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
  6. Add all the vegetables and saute for 5 minutes.
  7. Add all the spices and salt. Mix well.
  8. Add the soaked rice and mix well.
  9. Add water and mix well.
  10. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on high flame for 1 whistle.
  11. Reduce the flame and cook for 5 minutes.
  12. Turn off the flame and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  13. Open the lid of the pressure cooker and fluff the rice with a fork.
  14. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  15. Serve hot with raita or papad.

  • You can add meat or paneer to this recipe to make it non-vegetarian.
  • You can adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
  • You can also add nuts and raisins to the pulao for a sweet and nutty flavor.
