- 2 cups Basmati Rice
- 1/2 cup chopped Carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped Beans
- 1/2 cup Green Peas
- 1/2 cup chopped Capsicum
- 1/2 cup chopped Onion
- 1/2 cup chopped Spring Onion
- 2 Green Chillies
- 4-5 Garlic cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 2 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 2 teaspoon Oil
- Salt as per taste
Equipment
- A large pot to cook rice
- A wok or a large frying pan
- A spatula
- A chopping board and a knife
Method
- Wash 2 cups of Basmati rice in cold water and soak for 20 minutes.
- In the meantime, chop all the vegetables and keep them aside.
- Take a large pot, add 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
- Now, add the soaked Basmati rice and cook for 10 minutes or until the rice is cooked properly.
- Once the rice is cooked, drain the water and spread the rice on a flat surface to cool down.
- Heat oil in a wok or a large frying pan.
- Add chopped garlic and green chilies and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onions and sauté till they turn translucent.
- Now, add all the chopped vegetables and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, and red chili powder and mix well.
- Add cooked rice and mix well.
- Finally, add soy sauce and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot.
Notes
- You can also add other vegetables of your choice like corn, cabbage, etc.
- If you want to make it spicy, you can add more green chilies or red chili powder.
- Make sure that the rice is cooled down completely before adding it to the vegetables.
