Method
- Wash the rice several times until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in cold water for 30 minutes.

- Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the onions. Cook until the onions are golden brown. Remove the onions with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the chicken and cook until it is browned on all sides. Remove the chicken and set aside.
- In a large pot, add the water, bay leaves, cinnamon, and cardamom. Bring to a boil.

- Drain the rice and remove the bay leaves and whole spices.
- Add the chicken, onions, garlic, and ginger to the pot with the rice. Mix well.
