Method:
- Wash the rice in water and soak it for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil or ghee in a cooking pot.
- Add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, urad dal, and chana dal to the pot.
- Once the seeds start to crackle, add the cloves, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods.
- Add onions and green chillies to the pot and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

- Add the soaked rice to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Mix well.
- Cover the pot and let the rice cook on a low flame for 15-20 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, turn off the flame and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
