- 2 cups Basmati rice

- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste

- A wooden spoon

Method
- Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer and set it aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala to the pot and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the spices are fragrant.

- Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
