Ingredients

- 1 cup of sweet glutinous rice - ½ cup of red beans - 6 cups of water - ½ cup of sugar - 1 tablespoon of salt

Method

1. Rinse 1 cup of sweet glutinous rice in water and soak for 30 minutes. 2. Rinse ½ cup of red beans in water and soak for 30 minutes. 3. Drain the water from the rice and red beans. 4. In a pot, add the rice and red beans with 6 cups of water. 5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 6. After 30 minutes, add ½ cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of salt to the mixture and stir well. 7. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 8. Once the rice and red beans have fully cooked and the mixture has thickened, turn off the heat. 9. Use a strainer to remove any excess water and bean skins. 10. Serve the sweet rice porridge hot, garnished with sesame seeds or nuts.
